The EAES has taken the lead in setting up consensus development conferences which are now a regular feature of the congresses of the association. Within its current membership, the EAES has access to all top level centres involved in research and development in the front-line areas, clinical and technological, of minimal access surgery, interventional tomographic microtherapy and telemanipulation.
Mission
The mission of the EAES Education & Training committee is to improve patient care through education and training, with a specific focus on endoscopic surgery and other interventional techniques.
Vision
The vision of the EAES Education & Training committee is to be utilised by all national surgical societies and individual surgeons as the go-to resource for implementation of education and training improvement, leading to standardised surgical education across Europe and beyond.
The goals of EAES Education & Training committee, with regard to the EAES Strategic Plan
- Focus on providing Learning Mobility opportunities (e.g. fellowships, clinical visits);
- Hands-on Training activities (e.g. pre-congress, endorsed and sponsored courses);
- E-learning modalities (e.g. EAES manual, video-library, master classes);
- The strategy to achieve these goals is to communicate and co-operate with individual surgeons, local educational providers, national surgical societies, other professional associations and European institutions relevant to the field of education and training in surgery and related medical specialties.
