Education & Training Committee
The Education & Training Committee runs EAES training courses and also endorses training courses in member institutions and hospitals if these meet the criteria set up by the Committee. The EAES has taken the lead in setting up Consensus Development Conferences which are now a regular feature of the Congresses of the Association. Within its current membership, the EAES has access to all top level centers involved in research and development in the front-line areas, clinical and technological, of minimal access surgery, interventional tomographic microtherapy and telemanipulation.
The mission of the EAES Education & Training Committee is to improve patient care through education and training, with a specific focus on endoscopic surgery and other interventional techniques.
The vision of the EAES Education and Training Committee is to be utilised by all national surgical societies and individual surgeons as the go-to resource for implementation of education and training improvement, leading to standardised surgical education across Europe and beyond.
The goals of EAES Education and Training Committee, with regard to the EAES Strategic Plan, focus on providing Learning Mobility opportunities (e.g. congress travel grants, fellowships, clinical visits), Hands-on Training activities (e.g. pre-congress, endorsed and sponsored courses), E-learning modalities (e.g. EAES manual, video-corner, master classes) and Career Development possibilities (e.g. CME accredited tests, LSS programme, UEMS diploma in MIS).
The strategy to achieve these goals is to communicate and co-operate with individual surgeons, local educational providers, national surgical societies, other professional associations and European institutions relevant to the field of education and training in surgery and related medical specialties.
The core value is to adhere to the mission with integrity.
