After 2006, the EAES will host once again the next Congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery in Germany in 2017. It is for all of us a great honour to welcome delegates from around the world in Frankfurt from 14th to 17th June 2017.
The EAES and the german working group of minimal invasive surgery (CAMIC = Chirurgische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Minimal Invasive Chirurgie) have organized a joint meeting with very interesting speakers, moderators and themes to cover most of a field of Minimal Access Surgery today. It is truly a great privilege for my team and me as congress president to welcome you in June 2017 here in Frankfurt. We will do our best to make these days exciting on the interesting medical part as well as create a relaxing networking platform to meet old friends and make new friends.
Since Frankfurt is in the center of Europe and surely one of the most easy cities to reach by plane, express train or freeway, you should not hesitate to visit us. The meeting in Frankfurt will be the 25th anniversary meeting for the EAES and therefore there will be reasons to celebrate both the past and the future of the society. As a European society with a focus on special technical aspects of surgery more than a society of a surgical sub-specialty, we have the freedom to choose interesting aspects from all areas of minimal access surgery.
The 2017 theme will be “ Technology and Care for Patients”. The EAES program committee, the CAMIC as well all the other committees of the EAES have worked hard to prepare for you a program in which hopefully everybody will find interesting and/or new things to learn. Since globalization is real, we will welcome again like in the past years all our friends from around the world, from all continents and these visitors are especially welcome since they can teach and show us their vision of minimal access surgery.
Dear colleagues, we would love to see you here in Frankfurt in June 2017 and we would like encourage you to send abstracts, so we can share our work together.
EAES 2017 Congress President
