In honour of International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to announce that we can offer 12 places in a Women in da Vinci discovery robotics course, sponsored by Intuitive, on their da Vinci Xi and X surgical systems. The all female faculty members have been selected by EAES and Intuitive.
The course fee and dinner are courtesy of Intuitive. EAES offers each participants a travel grant of up to €500,00 to be paid out after the course.
This course is aimed at female surgeons at the beginning of their robotic experience or those who plan to begin a robotic programme.
These are some of the criteria for selection:
- Participant must be a paid up EAES member
- Living and working in Europe (due to legal requirements our sponsor has to adhere to)
- Participant has a robot in their hospital and is interested in doing robotic
general surgery - 100+ endoscopic general surgery cases experience as a single surgeon
- Preparation with the online training and online assessment at
https://learning.intuitive.com/ (Xi Multiport System Fundamentals and Technical Skills – v10, for surgeons) - Recommended doing simulator training if possible before the course
Objective: Build a community of female surgeons that empower one another as they network.

It reaches into the operating room, where women advocate for themselves and others, improving not only their careers but the care they provide to patients. Wednesday, 14th May 2025:

Thursday, 15th May 2025:
The course day at the training centre starts at 08.00 hrs, with participant introductions and faculty presentations.
10.00 – 11.00 hrs: da Vinci Surgical System presentation & dry run of basic system components
11.00 – 12.00 hrs: Hands-on: Dry lab skills drills & simulation
12.00 – 13.00 hrs: Lunch
13.00 – 16.00 hrs: Hands-on: Wet lab skills drills
16.00 hrs: Course wrap-up and debrief
