Workshops at EAES2026

The 34th international EAES congress, set for 23–26 June 2026, at the Megaron Conference Centre in Athens, Greece, will feature a series of workshops aimed at advancing surgical knowledge and skills. Two notable sessions, WS1 and WS2, are designed to introduce innovative technologies and methodologies in minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

WS1: Enabling a Sense of Touch in MIS—Showcasing the PALPABLE Prototype

Minimally invasive surgery offers numerous benefits, including reduced recovery times and minimised scarring. However, one significant challenge has been the diminished tactile feedback compared to open surgery. Workshop WS1 addresses this limitation by introducing the PALPABLE prototype, a groundbreaking technology designed to restore the sense of touch in MIS procedures. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience firsthand how this innovation can enhance surgical precision and patient outcomes.

WS2: AI for Rectal Cancer Surgery—The CLASSICA Project

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming integral to surgical practices, offering tools for improved decision-making and procedural accuracy. Workshop WS2 focuses on the application of AI in rectal cancer surgery, specifically through insights gained from the CLASSICA project. Participants will receive updates on the latest AI-driven techniques, discuss their implementation in clinical settings, and explore the potential for AI to revolutionise rectal cancer treatment.

These workshops are part of EAES 2026’s commitment to providing cutting-edge educational experiences that bridge the gap between technological innovation and surgical practice. Given the limited availability of spots, early registration is recommended.
