Dear colleagues,

Single Incision Endoscopic Surgery (SIES) has become an alternative to multiport laparoscopic surgery that does not reach the expectation that originally rised. Even so, there are groups at an international level that consider SIES as a true option with multiple advantages over the conventional approach. For this reason, the EAES has considered that it was time to develop a consensus based on the literature in order to determine the real advantages of this approach over multiport surgery so that emerging groups that wish to carry out this approach have enough data on the correct indications and the true advantages in the different indications.

A panel of experts on this type of approach and in multiport laparoscopic surgery have summarised the evidence in statements and recommendations.

The EAES is open to hear your comments and to open a discussion before to publish the results. Please give your opinion on the statements and recommendations of the SIES consensus conference EAES Frankfurt 2017 via: congress@eaes.eu

Consensus conferences

Almost every year, at the EAES annual meeting, the EAES organizes a consensus conference on a burning issue in laparoscopic surgery. In this section of the WEB site, you will find the publications (Surgical Endoscopy).
